As if immigrating to America is not dicult and challenging enough, imagine a new immigrant’s rst encounter with our drinking and drugging society. This unique DVD examines the compelling stories of several new immigrants as they learn about and negotiate issues related to substance abuse in our culture, some successfully, others not. Presented by representatives of three cultures: Somali, Latino and Hmong—in their respective languages. Community members will gain keen insights into protective and risk factors to prevent substance abuse—from a cultural perspective.
