HMONG ABC

The Dragon Princess and Orphan Boy Kaokee

Paperback, 32 pages, bilingual
by Chia Koua Vang
Bilingually written in English and Pahawh, this book is based on a Hmong folktale. Please NOTE that the Pahawh script is not the same as the most common Hmong writing script using the RPA (Romanized Popular Alphabets) system.
Pahawh is a Hmong writing system developed by Shong Lue Yang in 1959 and has been studied by many ever since. See this link for sample of the Pahawh script. The majority, perhaps over 80%, of the Hmong is using the RPA Hmong writing system. See this link for sample.
