Dr. Dia Cha was the first Hmong American woman to receive a PhD in Anthropology in the United States, hold a tenure track professoriate, and be awarded full professorship. She has a PhD in Medical Anthropology from the University of Colorado at Boulder, an MA in Applied Anthropology from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona, and a BA in Cultural Anthropology from Metropolitan State University of Denver. She was a former professor of Anthropology and Ethnic Studies from St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota and a former Research Associate with the Science Museum of Minnesota and the Denver Science Museum.
